The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area.  Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

The Youth Minister coordinates and leads the youth ministry program for Mary Queen of Peace School. This position supports the Catholic mission of the parish and school by fostering spiritual growth, faith formation, and active participation of youth in the life of the Church. The incumbent serves as a positive Catholic role model and cultivates meaningful engagement with students and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the pastor, parish staff, school faculty, students, families, and the Archdiocesan Youth Office to ensure effective youth ministry programming.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate regular youth ministry meetings, events, and activities.
  • Coordinate and lead youth participation in programs such as the Luke 18 Retreat and the Steubenville Mid-America Conference.
  • Prepare and guide youth in designated Sunday Liturgies, prayer services, and service-learning opportunities.
  • Encourage faith development and active involvement in parish and school life.
  • Promote a welcoming and supportive environment that fosters Christian values and discipleship.

Required Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
  • Knowledge of Catholic doctrine, traditions, and teachings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities.
  • Classroom management and group facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with youth, families, and parish/school staff.
