Summary: The NICU Nurse Educator is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates expertise in a specific area of clinical nursing. The Educator position is based on the needs of the patient, healthcare system and expertise of the educator. Facilitates quality activities based on identified needs to enhance excellence in clinical practice. Prioritizes these activities in accordance with patient, staff and organizational goals and objectives. Maintains standards of professional nursing. The scope of practice encompasses the use of the nursing process in major areas: practice, education, consultation and administration.


Requirements: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Master's required. 3 - 5 years of experience in a specific area of expertise: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Exhibits personal characteristics that enhance the effectiveness of the role, including effective interpersonal communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving. BLS through AHA required. PALS and NRP preferred.

Days - First Shift, Flexibility with shifts to meet the needs of the department.
