If so, Tacoma Rescue Mission (TRM) is seeking a Donation Processor to be on a team that carries out our mission. The Tacoma Rescue Mission (TRM) is a faith-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to support all people - including clients, volunteers, community partners, and staff - to become their best. We provide emergency services such as shelter and meals to neighbors experiencing homelessness. We offer supportive housing and addiction recovery programs that promote self-sufficiency, sustainable transformation, and stability. We share our Christian faith within a loving and inclusive community.

Job Purpose
Ensures all donated goods from donors to retail are received, sorted, and processed efficiently, maintaining quality standards and a positive donor experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Handles the receiving and donation process with the utmost respect and care (i.e., welcoming and appreciating the donor, assisting in unloading donations, telling the TRM story, and issuing a receipt).
  • Accepts donations, presorts, and prices merchandise, in line with policies and procedures.
  • Maintains clean and well-organized reception, presort, and processing areas.
  • Recognizes quality merchandise and effectively seeks guidance on pricing from the Donation Center Manager.
  • Effectively and thoroughly researches merchandise as necessary to get the most value for our donations.
  • Works with and effectively communicates with the Donation Center Manager, other processing employees and donors, for a healthy and productive work environment.
  • Achieves daily and weekly production goals set by the manager.
  • Embodies the values that form our culture to meet the organization's mission of sharing God's love, hope, and support with our neighbors in need to uplift communities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support others and ensure an efficient and effective work environment.

Working Conditions
Moderate to heavy physical activity. Depending on location, this position may require frequent strenuous activity. This position may work in a warehouse setting with outdoor exposure throughout the workday.
Schedule & Work Location
Schedule: Part-time, 29 hours per week
Flexible schedule to be determined with supervisor. Shifts will be during the Donation Center hours of operation:
  • Monday - Saturday, 9am - 5pm

Two days off per week (Sunday and one other day). Attendance at specific meetings, off-site events, or trainings, as required.

Physical Requirements
