HDT Tutor - Literacy (Pre K-5)

Atlanta & Stone Mountain, GA

DEPARTMENT   Academic Programs - High Dosage Tutoring (HDT)

REPORTS TO  Program Manager

EMPLOYMENT TYPE   Part-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly) - School-Year Seasonal

LOCATION        Atlanta & Stone Mountain, GA 

POSITION SUMMARY

Studyville is hiring Part-Time intervention Tutors to join our High Dosage Tutoring (HDT) Program, working with small groups of Pre K-5 students during the school day on essential literacy skills. Tutors use Studyville's provided curriculum - no lesson planning required - to help students close learning gaps and reach grade level. 

This role's core functions include:

  • Deliver literacy instruction to small groups of Pre K-5 students
  • Use Studyville's provided curriculum with no independent lesson planning
  • Track student attendance and daily progress
  • Be a reliable, positive presence in the school community

SCHEDULE

  • 10 week assignment with potential to be extended through the duration of the school year
  • Minimum 6-10 hours of availability per week throughout the school day
  • Will be assigned TWO schools, servicing students in Atlanta & Stone Mountain

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Literacy & Math Instruction

  • Work with small groups (1-4 students) in 30-45 minute sessions in literacy per school placement
  • Use the provided curriculum and materials as designed - no lesson planning needed
  • Adjust pacing and support to meet each student's needs

Curriculum Delivery

  • Use the Tutor Tool Kit and all provided materials
  • Follow the provided scope and sequence 

Progress Tracking

  • Record attendance and daily student progress in StudyTrack
  • Communicate concerns or progress updates to the HDT Program Coordinator

School Community Partnership

  • Be a reliable, positive presence in the school community
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support student goals
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience teaching or tutoring in a professional setting
  • Ability to work with Pre K-5 students in small groups
  • Reliable transportation to assigned schools
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and fingerprinting as required by Georgia state law
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred

  • Current teaching certification
