Job description

ACT Prep Tutors Wanted for Fun After-School Tutoring!

Sylvan Learning is the industry leader in providing supplemental education to children in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. We are seeking smart, dynamic individuals to work with our high school students on preparing for theSATand/or ACT. Math tutoring, reading tutoring, and writing tutoring of individual students from elementary school through high school may also be available.

In this role, our college prep teachers deliver our proven curriculum to students at our learning center in individual and small group format. Evening and weekend availability may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspire,engage, and motivate students
  • Manage small group teaching environment
  • Track, evaluate, document, and manage individual student performance
  • Communicate progress and results to the Center Director
  • Ensure students achieve their highest possible test scores
  • Teach using Sylvan based programs
  • Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment
  • Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan

REQUIREMENTS

  • Four year degree or equivalent required
  • Strong score on theSATand/or ACT
  • Previous teaching or training experience preferred
  • Evening and weekend availability required
