General Description:The Content Tutor: clinical data coding cooperatively assist students with various healthcare subjects including but not limited to math, sciences, and writing (as feasible) through instruction and implementing study skills.
Duties and Tasks:
  • Provide tutoring assistance to students as needed
  • Assist ASC Manager in forming specialized study groups as need arises
  • Assign software programs to assist students in various academic programs
  • Distribute information leading to academic improvement
  • Consult with faculty regarding center's resources
  • Research current list of useful Internet resources for student and faculty use
  • Work closely with Tutoring Services Coordinator, academic discipline faculty and staff, and Student Services faculty and staff to provide optimal services to students
  • Provide tutoring services orientation for any willing faculty member

Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Analyzing skills
  • Ability to assist undergraduate learners with course content

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience with one-on-one and/or group tutoring
  • Tutoring and/or teaching experience of clinical data coding

  • Earned credential (certificate, associate of applied science degree, bachelor's degree) in clinical data coding skills
  • Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  • Satisfactorily passed undergraduate coursework in health information management or related health science field within 3 years of date of application
