Job description

The After School Program Teen Center Coordinator (011) is responsible for planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating teen programs, activities, & events and providing individual guidance and referrals as needed.ย We are offering an exciting opportunity for anย After School Program Teen Center Coordinator (011)ย at our Thomas S. Murphyย Clubhouse (011) located in Brooklyn, NY.

This is aย part-timeย positionย working 20-25 hours a week Monday through Friday in the afternoon and evening.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for theย After School Program Teen Center Coordinatorย (011) Position:

  • Plan, develop & implement recreation programs, special events and leisure activities.
  • Administer recreation programs to ensure that programs are delivered within guidelines and budgets.
  • Promote recreational programs in order to ensure that members are aware of available opportunities and activities.
  • Ensure recreation facilities are maintained in order to ensure a safe, clean and appropriate environment for recreation activities.

Required Skills/Knowledge for theย After School Program Teen Center Coordinatorย (011) Position:

  • A high school diploma required; some college experience and at least 1 year of experience in youth development preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct recreational programs and services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teenagers from diverse backgrounds as well as a range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Must be highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
