Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions: Performs a variety of sales and clerical duties in the management of the golf course pro shop and in the merchandising of various golf equipment and supplies at the Henry Homberg Municipal Golf Course. Sells merchandise such as golf balls, clubs, tees, gloves, as well as food and drink concessions. Registers players, schedule starting time, collects greens and cart fees and records receipts; provides information and interprets rules to visitors and users of the golf course. Cleans and maintains pro shop facilities on a daily basis. Stocks inventory for goods and concessions. Operates a cash register and concession distribution equipment. Interacts with the public and visitors in a pleasant and cordial manner.
Other Job Functions: Performs other duties as required. Working Conditions
This position requires 100% on-site work. Works inside with limited outside activity. Hours vary due to seasonal conditions and are relative to the opening and closing of a golf course. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Minimum Essential Qualifications
Knowledge: Knowledge of daily golf operations required. Knowledge of sales and cash register operations and reporting. Basic knowledge of golf. Knowledge of general rules, functions, and procedures involved in cashier operations.
Skills/Abilities: Ability to maintain pro shop inventories, operate a computer terminal, printer, cash drawer, calculator, typewriter, copier and vacuum. Ability to perform arithmetic computations quickly and accurately. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and patrons. Ability to demonstrate flexibility in executing various job functions as required. Must be comfortable and accurate with handling cash. Ability to perform minor custodial functions.
Physical Requirements: Constantly hears and sees; frequently hears, writes, uses computer, calculator and cash register; sorts, stands, sits, walks, mops, vacuums, and lifts or pushes objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Infrequently squats and bends. Uses cleaning solvents while performing custodial services in pro shop.
Education/Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Some experience/education in sales or as a cashier of related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
