Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
The Nurse Planner employs the principles of high-quality educational design to assist the accredited provider unit with planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities. Guides the educational process, independent of but accountable to the Program Director (Lead Nurse Planner). Facilitates planning committees. Critically analyzes gaps and educational needs and develops measurable outcomes. Designs and provides educational activities to help learners achieve outcomes. Measures success of activities. Consistently follows the ANCC Educational Design Process Steps to provide high-quality NCPD/DNEs. Plans independently from the influence of ineligible companies and organizations. Consistently use principles of adult education, generational learning styles, and cultural practice examples. Sets goals for planning, implementing, and evaluating NCPD/CNE's for RNs in the community served. Prepares DMC APU reports as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Baccalaureate in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
Unencumbered Texas Nursing License.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
NCPD CNE background/experience, who knows the definition of and criteria for continuing nursing education in the State of Texas, who is familiar with ANCC educational design process, and who consistently uses adult learning principles, learning preferences, generational learning styles, and cultural practice examples in learner-centered education. Computer proficient.
