Job description

Iron County School District Teen Center is seeking a Part Time Teen Center Monitor Paraprofessionals to work 27.5 hours per week. This position will remain open until filled. 

Monday-Thursday 6:00am-8:00am 2:00pm-5:00pm

Friday 12:00pm-3:00pm
The Teen Center Monitor is under the direction of the Director of Special Programs and in coordination with the District Homeless Coordinator, the Teen Center Monitor is responsible for actively supervising and maintaining a safe, positive environment within a teen center by enforcing rules, monitoring activities, facilitating positive interactions between youth, and ensuring the overall well-being of participants during their time at the center; this often includes overseeing teens as they wash clothing, do homework, and care for their basic needs.  Additional duties may include managing conflicts, and providing basic support to teens while adhering to established guidelines and reporting any issues to superiors.

  • Monitors teen center as teens wash clothing, complete homework, and take care of their basic needs.
  • Actively monitor teen activities to prevent unsafe behaviors and potential conflicts.
  • Enforce center rules and policies consistently, addressing any violations promptly.
  • Conduct regular safety checks of the facility and equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed, coordinating with appropriate authorities if necessary.
  • Provide basic guidance and support to teens in navigating social situations.
  • Provide basic support to teens when completing homework
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and incident reports.
  • Communicate effectively with other staff members, supervisors, and parents as needed.
  • Assist with the check-in and check-out process for participants.
  • Maintain a clean and organized center environment.
  • Provides support assistance to students and student groups.
