Teach kids to swim at the YMCA!
Hey there, water lover! Looking for a rewarding job that makes a real difference? Join our YMCA team as a Swim Instructor and teach kids ages 3-12 to swim safely and confidently.
Pay starts at $18/hour

What You'll Do:
  • Share your love of swimming with kiddos from tiny tots to pre-teens
  • Create fun pool time that cleverly teaches important skills
  • Play games that help swimmers feel confident in the water
  • Give high-fives and encouragement when students master a new skill
  • Chat with parents about their child's awesome progress
  • Keep everyone safe while they're having a blast
  • Be the instructor you wish you had when you learned to swim!
What You Need:
  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Know how to swim and be comfortable with different strokes
  • Enjoy hanging out with kids and helping them succeed
  • A positive attitude and patience when teaching
  • Willingness to get wet and have fun!
  • Previous teaching experience? Great if you have it, but no worries if you don't-we'll train you!

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification and Emergency Oxygen. (We will provide training)
  • Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
  • YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent.
  • At least 16 years of age.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
  • Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.
