These roles typically require specific skills or certifications and may offer flexible hours. Part-time technical jobs are common in IT, engineering, healthcare, and other technical fields.

What does a part time technical do?

In a Part Time Technical position, your workweek is often flexible, with shifts that might include evenings or weekends based on company needs and project timelines. You'll typically handle specific technical tasks such as troubleshooting issues, supporting ongoing projects, and maintaining systems within a set number of hours per week. Collaboration with full-time colleagues is common, either in-person or through remote communication tools, to ensure smooth handovers and consistent workflow. This structure allows you to contribute valuable technical expertise while managing other commitments, making it an appealing option for students, professionals seeking supplemental income, or those needing a flexible schedule.

To thrive as a Part Time Technical, you generally need strong analytical skills, a background in a relevant technical field (such as IT, engineering, or electronics), and practical experience or education that suits the specific industry. Familiarity with tools such as diagnostic software, troubleshooting utilities, programming environments, or system management platforms is often required, and relevant certifications (like CompTIA, Microsoft, or vendor-specific credentials) can be advantageous. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills help you effectively support projects and collaborate with full-time technical staff. These competencies are vital to efficiently handle technical tasks in a limited work schedule, ensuring high-quality results for the team and organization.

What is the easiest part time technical job to get?

A part-time technical support or help desk role is often considered one of the easiest to obtain, as it typically requires basic computer skills, customer service abilities, and some familiarity with common software or hardware. These positions often have lower entry barriers and may not require advanced certifications, making them accessible for beginners seeking flexible work schedules.

Job description

Description

Millwork Engineer / Mozaik Technical Designer

Excellence. Discipline. Pride in the craft.

Moralia is a Canadian luxury millwork and interior design brand. We design and manufacture refined kitchens, closets, wall systems, and architectural interiors for discerning clients who value precision, refinement, and timeless design - across both residential and commercial environments.

We are seeking a Millwork Engineer / Mozaik Technical Designer who will take responsibility for the technical accuracy of our projects. This role suits someone who understands how millwork is built and installed in the real world - and who brings structure, foresight, and precision to the engineering process.

This role is based at Moralia's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in London, Ontario. Hybrid or partially-remote arrangements may be considered for the right senior candidate.

Both full-time and part-time arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.

This is not drafting for production-line work. This is technical leadership in a luxury environment.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Translate design intent into engineered Mozaik models that are practical, precise, and build-ready
  • Develop clean, logical cabinet structures and joinery methods
  • Produce accurate CNC output and production files
  • Create clear, professional AutoCAD shop drawings - plans, elevations, sections, details
  • Perform accurate on-site field measurements when required
  • Coordinate tolerances, reveals, and build logic with installation reality in mind
  • Anticipate issues before they occur - solving problems at the engineering stage
  • Maintain disciplined file structure and documentation control

Premium Materials & Build Logic Awareness

You understand material behavior and detailing across:

  • fine veneers and matched-grain assemblies
  • solid wood and natural finishes
  • lacquered and high-finish surfaces
  • glass integration
  • premium hardware systems
  • stone and solid-surface interfaces

And you design with precision, protection, and final presentation in mind.

You Are

  • Highly experienced in millwork engineering, technical design, or shop drawing production (ideally 1-3+ years)
  • Advanced in Mozaik and AutoCAD
  • Fluent in construction logic, tolerances, sequencing, and assembly methodology
  • Comfortable working closely with production and installation teams
  • Calm, thoughtful, structured, and methodical in your approach
  • Confident in your expertise while remaining grounded and professional
  • Someone who takes ownership and stands behind the accuracy of your work

This role is suited to a technically minded craftsperson - someone who understands that precision at the engineering stage defines the quality of the finished work.

Strong Advantages

  • Experience in high-end, design-driven millwork environments - where precision, material care, and detail are non-negotiable
  • Familiarity with Biesse CNC workflows and bSolid programming / toolpath management
  • Understanding of HOMAG edge-banding operations
  • Experience with luxury hardware and motion systems
  • Ability to read, clarify, and coordinate architectural & interior design intent

Professional Requirements

  • Comfortable attending job-site field measure visits when required
  • Valid Ontario G driver's license

Non-Negotiables

  • You do not guess - you verify
  • You design with respect for materials, craft, and installation reality
  • You value discipline, documentation, and clarity
  • You care deeply about accuracy - because the finished work depends on it

If you believe precision is a responsibility - not a suggestion - and you want to contribute to a refined, excellence-driven brand, we would like to meet you.
