Job description

Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Policy (TDT), the Policy Fellow (TDT) will work on cybersecurity, privacy, and AI policy issues. The scope of this role is global, including the U.S. and other key tech sector markets such as Europe, India, China, and Brazil. The Policy Fellow will support the advocacy activities of the TDT team.
Your responsibilities:
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments in the United States and globally pertaining to Artificial Intelligence, privacy and cybersecurity
  • Synthesize, present, and analyze information on policy efforts related to AI, privacy or cybersecurity, globally
  • Maintain internal tracking sheets for policy developments, and other data as necessary
  • Assist in drafting inputs for fact sheets, position papers, letters, comments, and other written materials as assigned
  • Work collaboratively with the Trust, Data, and Technology team, and the Policy team more broadly, to support ITI's advocacy efforts
  • Attend internal and external meetings on AI, privacy and/or cybersecurity-related issues and produce readouts
  • Help coordinate TDT team advocacy efforts and manage the implementation of strategic projects that the team is undertaking

Your qualifications:
  • Graduate student pursuing a degree in political science, public policy, international affairs/relations, economics, technology policy (e.g., cybersecurity), relevant STEM (e.g., engineering, computer science), business, communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely about complex technology topics
  • Strong academic record with a demonstrated interest and knowledge of technology policy issues, especially pertaining to AI, privacy and cybersecurity
  • Experience conducting open-source research
