Education and Experience The standard minimum qualifications for disciplines on this list are; any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, OR any associate degree and six years of professional experience. As used here, "professional experience" includes teaching experience

"Teaching experience" is defined as serving in the capacity of an instructor responsible for development and delivery of formalized educational content designed to meet established standards in an academic or industry setting. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Meeting with classes as scheduled by the Instructional Services Office. Teaching classes in accordance with the intent of the college catalog and with the objectives and content of the course outline of record. Providing a current syllabus which is consistent with the course outline of record to all students for each class.

A course syllabus for each course taught shall be filed by the unit member with the Office of Instruction within one week of the first meeting of the class. Reviewing, in cooperation with other faculty in the same subject area, textbooks, workbooks, and other materials. Maintaining accurate and current records of student attendance and student achievement in accordance with District procedures.

Reporting absences to the appropriate Dean. Submitting grade rosters to the Office of Admissions and Records within five (5) District business days after the last day of finals. All attendance rosters and other administrative forms must be properly completed as scheduled.

Being accessible to students for purposes of problem solving and student retention and success. Ability to: Analyze problems, determine effective solutions, take independent action for successful results Prepare clear, concise and comprehensive written and oral reports Effectively communicate in both oral and written forms Establish and maintain effective work relationships Maintain currency in technological developments in areas of responsibility Work with designated computer programs and systems Diversity Statement All employees must have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
