Available Shifts/Locations: We are currently hiring for our Boston main campus (243 Charles Street) - Variable shirt- part time

Summary: Our ENT team is determined to give new hires the opportunity to gain clinical knowledge and skills to start/continue a rewarding career in ENT. A Surgical Technologist is responsible for providing intraoperative care to surgical patients. Successful candidates are eager to learn, motivated, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, are detail oriented and are committed to providing exceptional patient care.
Our team encourages you to come onsite for a shadowing experience and meet one-on-one with our dedicated Surg Tech staff and Registered Nurses. ENT has several specialties, including Otology, Head and Neck, Laryngology, Rhinology, Facial Plastics and Pediatric surgery. Our patients' ages range from Neonates to adults. There is a wide range of technology used in our surgical suites including a Robot for our head and neck cancer surgeries. We would love for you to be a part of this team!
- Responsible for assisting surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in various surgical procedures and playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the operating room
Essential Functions
-Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
-Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment required for the surgery.
-Transport patients to the operating room, help with positioning on the surgical table, and ensure their safety and comfort during the procedure.
-Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team during procedures.
-Follow proper sterilization techniques to ensure the cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and supplies.
-Maintain accurate and complete documentation of surgical procedures, including counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments used.
-Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team.
-Assist in preparing the surgical site by applying sterile drapes and solutions.
-Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed by the surgeon.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] -preferred
Certified Surgical Technologist [CST] - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) - preferred
Dental Assistant [State License] - preferred
Medical Technician [New Hampshire License] - New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy - preferred
Work Experience
Experience as a Surgical Technologist I or in a similar role 0-1 year required and One (1) year experience as Surgical Technologist in a similar setting 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.
- Familiarity with surgical equipment and technology used in the operating room.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations during surgeries.
- Understanding of infection control protocols and patient safety measures.
