Job description

This job posting is intended for those interested in part-time positions in the Testing Center at the Hamilton County campus. Applying to this posting does not indicate a current opening nor does it guarantee an interview.

General Purpose and Scope of the position:


The position is responsible for the administration and documentation of certifications/assessments andwill work closely with the Testing Services Manager to maintain currency (certified proctor) in skills and
procedures.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide general college information about services.

  • Administer certification and academic exams through the Center.

  • Schedule appointments for exams including determining candidate eligibility and exam availability.

  • Assist in the keeping of records for all certifications conducted in the Center.

  • Maintain proper documentation of test results and other records.

  • Input data when necessary.

  • Participate in training as necessary to stay abreast of appropriate technical areas.

  • Hand or computer score certification exams.

  • Assist students with interpreting placement assessment results or other exam results as needed.

  • Learn software/hardware needed to administer the various certifications/assessments, scheduleappointments, document results and support the efforts of the Assessment Center according toestablished protocol.

  • Participate in vendor mandatory training and complete proctor exams as determined by vendorcontracts.

  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promotesame as an integral part of one's work.

  • Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act(FERPA).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A working knowledge of computers is essential.

  • Excellent word processing and spreadsheet computing skills are required.

  • Must exhibit excellent interpersonal communication, telephone, confidentiality, and customer serviceskills.

  • Job requires flexibility and the ability to multitask.

  • Willingness to travel to Hamilton County high schools once a year if a school requests our presence toproctor a Certified Nursing Associate exam. Most schools visit our campus to test.

  • Willingness and patience to answer questions from fellow proctors and to assist in launching andconcluding exams.

  • Requires the ability to hear, talk, see, read and write on a constant basis. Constant sitting, standing andwalking within the office area. Infrequent lifting and bending.

  • Requires the ability to interpret and understand complex assessment instructions, to use problemsolving techniques as they arise and to reason to make decisions.

  • Due to access of testing materials, current Ivy Tech Community College students may not be consideredfor the position.

Preferred Qualifications:


Associates degree preferred.
Two years Assessment Center experience preferred.

Pay: $15.25 per hour
