Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY: The SVSU Department of Music seeks an applicant to teach applied lessons in Bass. There may be opportunities to teach other courses in the candidate's area of expertise as needed. Experience with both upright and electric bass and a wide variety of styles is preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in bass performance or related field
  • Experience and ability to positively interact with all members of the campus community
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with college-level jazz instruction
  • Experience in teaching a wide variety of styles

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Duties are generally performed inside and not exposed to adverse conditions.
  • All work associated with this role must be performed within the state of Michigan.
