POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of Instructional Materials Support student interns provides support to the academics department while performing various tasks in distributing instructional materials to students and teachers in grades kindergarten to twelfth. They offer support by receiving, packing, shipping, organizing, and taking inventory of instructional materials. The student will work in accordance with all applicable laws, guidelines, and UVA policies. This position works up to 20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize instructional materials
- Pack and ship instructional materials to students
- Regularly inventory instructional materials
- Receive instructional materials deliveries
- Unloading pallet(s) of instructional materials as they are delivered (some heavy lifting required)
- Additional duties and requests from the manager
- Perform all other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in an office setting is preferred.
- Current student at an accredited College or University.
- Must be in good standing (Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher)
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in at least 9 semester units or 12 quarter units at an accredited college or university. Enrollment must be maintained throughout employment, except for summer and winter breaks.
- For registered college students with a permanent disability, the minimum unit requirement is waived.
- A student in their final semester/quarter who needs fewer than 9 semester units or 12 quarter units to graduate with a four-year degree must be enrolled part-time, with written verification from the registrar of the upcoming graduation as proof.
- Student Interns must submit their grades and maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA each semester for continued employment.
