Job description

We are seeking a part-time General Claims Associate, college student to work to in our Property Damage Department in our Parsippany, New Jersey office.

Associates are responsible for assisting with claim related tasks, making phone calls, and documenting claim files, while providing superior customer service.

The hours for the position will flex Monday through Friday and may be scheduled around a student's academic obligations in an associate's, bachelor's, or master's program. The hours for the position are 15 to 20 hours per week. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the insurance industry while working toward completing your college education!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with property damage claims by bringing a prompt and amicable resolution.
  • Assist to verify coverage on claims and contact parties involved, including lienholders, insurance carriers, body shops, etc.
  • Initiate phone calls to repair facilities, to assist in obtaining repair status and/or requesting documentation.
  • Claims are settled and negotiated based on company guidelines and applicable law.
  • Position requires candidate to work in our office, there is no hybrid option

Qualifications:

  • Must be a student currently working toward an associates, bachelor's, or master's degree.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Multi-tasking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Technical aptitude, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think critically, use resources and seek answers.
  • Must be commutable to our Parsippany, NJ office.

Preferred Qualifications:
