Job description

St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a part-time Dining Room Worker. Join a team recognized by students on Niche as having the "Best College Food in Wisconsin" and ranked among the top in the nation!
This position offers daytime hours that align with the school calendar, with summers off. Perfect for someone who values work-life balance and wants to contribute meaningfully while enjoying flexibility outside of traditional 9-5 schedules. The hours are generally Monday - Friday from 10:30 am - 3:30 pm. We are able to offer flexibility with the number of days per week, 3 days being the minimum. The position begins annually on August 20th and ends on May 20th.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Assist with the setup, service, and cleanup at Ruth's Marketplace, including meal plan service, dishwashing, and floor cleaning.

  • Communicate effectively with the Production team to support a smooth and continuous flow of food preparation, sharing timely and relevant information related to batch cooking.

  • Assist with product rotation, stocking, and inventory management. Maintain clean, organized coolers, freezers, and storerooms assigned to the front-of-house team.

  • Follow all Dining Services Policies and Procedures and assist supervisors in ensuring all staff follow safety, sanitation, HACCP, and Wisconsin Food Code guidelines.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Food service experience is a plus.

  • Commitment to a mission-driven environment that is aligned with Catholic, Norbertine, and liberal arts values.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.

  • Ability to communicate politely and resolve customer service issues.

  • Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Skilled at setting a good example for others.

  • Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy environment.
