WHO WE ARE
ONE KIDS PLACE Children's Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.


THE OPPORTUNITY

Position: Student Counsellor - NADY Program
Location: Nipissing
Effective: October 2026 - June 2027
Status: Non-unionized
Job type: Contract, Part-time (Saturdays, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM)


POSITION SUMMARY:The Student Counsellor will work under the supervision of One Kids Place staff to ensure coordinated delivery of recreational activities for children and youth with special needs.


JOB DUTIES

  • Assists the assigned One Kids Place therapist by carrying out one-to-one or group activities with children/youth.
  • Assists the therapist in implementing activities that support social and recreational development.
  • Participates in the orientation and training provided by One Kids Place.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some experience working or volunteering in the health care or human service sector
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team supporting different professionals
  • Computer competency with a variety of software is required
  • Ability to work independently and in a professional manner respecting client confidentiality and program integrity
  • Must have some leadership skills and the ability to engage participants in a variety of group activities.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license (class G) is an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

  • Participe a l'orientation et a la formation fournies par One Kids Place.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Experience de travail ou de benevolat dans le secteur des soins de sante ou des services sociaux
  • Excellentes competences en communication orale et ecrite requises
  • Excellentes competences organisationnelles et interpersonnelles requises
  • Capacite a travailler au sein d'une equipe interdisciplinaire soutenant differents professionnels
  • Des competences informatiques avec une variete de logiciels sont requises
  • Capacite a travailler de maniere independante et professionnelle en respectant la confidentialite du client et l'integrite du programme
  • Doit avoir des competences en leadership et la capacite d'engager les participants dans une variete d'activites.
  • Un permis de conduire valide de l'Ontario (classe G) est un atout
  • Le bilinguisme (anglais/francais) est un atout
