Job Description
This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool. As vacancies occur, they are filled from the pool.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in Welding, Welding Fabrication or professionally related area. Or, a combination of education and professional experience.
  • One year of work experience in welding, welding fabrication or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • American Welding Society (AWS) professional level certifications: D1.1 GMAW, FCAW and GTAW plate and the GTAW 18 through 10 gauge or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Experience teaching in a community college setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach assigned courses and be available to students during the contract period.
  • Prepare course syllabi, course outlines (if necessary) and related instructional materials.
  • Maintain student records, including attendance and grades.
  • Administer student evaluations.
  • Participate in orientation and faculty meetings as requested.
  • Participate in student retention activities as requested.
  • Promote college educational programs and services to the communities served by WNC.
