The Shrine of St. Anne Catholic School is a K-8 grade school located in the heart of Olde Town, Arvada, CO. We are a close-knit community of families and students that support a nurturing community, reinforced family environment, rigorous academic curriculum and Catholic faith formation. Our Catholic faith is the heart of who we are. Under the patronage of St. Anne, we strive to educate the whole child spiritually, academically, physically, and socially within the loving community that surrounds our school. Students attend weekly mass, practice adoration and reconciliation, pray the rosary, and participate in daily religion or theology classes.

We also offer several spiritual retreat opportunities over the course of a student's time at our school. Our school's academic curriculum is set by the Archdiocese of Denver - Office of Catholic Schools. Students in grade Kindergarten through 8th participate in core curriculum in language arts (literature), social studies, science, mathematics, and religion/theology. Additionally, our school offers the following "specials": art, physical education, music/theater, Spanish, and technology. We are seeking a Part-time Student Support Paraprofessional to work within our team. Our Student Support Paraprofessional provides individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to an assigned student throughout the school day. Through a caring, faith-filled presence, the paraprofessional fosters the student's growth, dignity, and independence while supporting meaningful participation in the classroom and school community in partnership with teachers and staff.

*This is a part-time non-benefit eligible position*

**Schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:50 am – 12:50 pm (Schedule is subject to change)**

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and act in accordance with doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church
• Know, teach, and act consistently in accordance with the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Shrine of Saint Anne Catholic School
• Provide one-on-one academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to an assigned student
• Foster a safe, respectful, and faith-filled learning environment that reflects the mission and values of the Shrine of Saint Anne Catholic School
• Encourage student independence while providing appropriate guidance and support
• Implement teacher-directed accommodations and individualized learning or behavior plans
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, colleagues, and principal
• Participate in all Archdiocese of Denver in-service and training programs, and participate in all local school sponsored professional development and training programs and initiatives unless exempted or excused by principal
• Cooperate with the principal and staff members in school related meetings, activities, and projects
• Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records in accordance with local school policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and secure learning and work environment
• Participate in annual performance review based upon the implementation of the essential duties of the Paraprofessional
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students, and general school matters
• Follow established procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of students
• Maintain required training, certification and/or credentialing
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal

Education and Experience:

• Requires a minimum of a high school diploma; some college or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Requires appropriate training, certification/licensing and/or credentialing

Competencies and Qualifications:

• Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals
• Effective supervisory skills
• Effective listening and verbal communication skills
• Must have the necessary background and training in paraprofessional education methods and subject areas
• Must have an understanding of child development skills necessary to relate to the students being taught
• Must have appropriate control and discipline techniques to successfully manage a classroom
• Must work cooperatively with school staff and administration
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of and willingness to implement safety and emergency procedures
• Compliance with Safe Environment requirements
