What does a typical day look like for the Night Shelf Stocker?
You will:
  • The Meat Room Custodian plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the commissary's meat room and surrounding areas.
  • This position involves a combination of custodial duties, minor maintenance tasks, and general responsibilities to ensure a healthy and sanitary environment
  • Cleaning and sanitizing meat processing equipment, including slicers, grinders, saws, and cutting boards, to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety
  • Keeping the meat preparation and storage areas clean and organized to meet health and safety standards
  • Restocking cleaning supplies, sanitizers, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in the meat room for the use of meat department employee
  • Cleaning and maintaining meat display cases to ensure that products are presented attractively to customers
  • Adhering to food safety guidelines and regulations, including proper handwashing, glove usage, and sanitation practices
  • Assisting in inventory control by monitoring stock levels of cleaning supplies and reporting when replenishment is needed
  • Being prepared to respond to emergencies such as spills or accidents involving meat products, following safety protocols and notifying supervisors as necessary
  • Maintaining cleaning and sanitation records as required by food safety regulations
