About the Role 

The Stock Crew Manager oversees the performance, quality, and productivity of stockers in the Grocery Department. This role ensures that merchandising standards, price integrity, inventory accuracy, and company policies are consistently followed. The Stock Crew Manager supports the Grocery Manager in achieving sales, gross profit, and labor goals while promoting Vallarta’s core values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Greet customers and team members, modeling extraordinary service with Vallarta’s six steps of customer care. 

  • Achieve and maintain company goals for merchandising, orders, gross profits, inventory, and displays. 

  • Follow planograms for displays and ensure timely set-up of promotional endcaps and side stacks. 

  • Oversee quarterly physical inventories and accurate reporting of shortages, damages, and spoils. 

  • Control department expenses, shrink, and pilferage losses. 

  • Delegate and supervise personnel on tasks, safety, behavior, and customer service. 

  • Ensure merchandise is handled with care and rotated to prevent spoilage. 

  • Order products, review invoices, and ensure discrepancies are reported promptly. 

  • Stock merchandise in correct locations and maintain schematic integrity. 

  • Supervise the safe unloading, transport, and stocking of merchandise. 

  • Train and mentor stockers on company policies, safety, and customer service. 

  • Ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal safety and sanitation regulations. 

  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department. 

  • Enforce company policies, meal/rest breaks, and team member accountability. 

  • Promote teamwork, communication, and professional growth. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Stand and walk constantly (6–8 hours/day). 

  • Frequently bend, squat, twist, kneel, and reach above/below shoulders. 

  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation. 

  • Lift and carry 11–25 lbs. frequently and up to 61 lbs. occasionally (longest distance: 25 feet). 

  • Operate manual pallet jacks, forklifts, and other equipment safely. 

  • Work in environments with exposure to dust, gas, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures/humidity. 

  • Ability to work graveyard hours as required. 

What We’re Looking For 

  • At least 1 year of grocery experience and 1 year of management experience required. 

  • Knowledge of grocery operations, vendors, schematics, and merchandising. 

  • Ability to operate dollies, box cutters, pallet jacks, forklifts, and related equipment. 

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Basic computer proficiency (interactive ordering systems, Word, Outlook). 

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.  

  • Basic understanding of Spanish language is a plus but not required.  

  • Willingness to transfer to other store locations within commuting distance. 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
