About the Role
The Grocery Day Stocker is responsible for transporting, stocking, and displaying grocery merchandise, as well as accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for curbside pickup. This role ensures products are fresh, rotated, and well-presented while maintaining Vallarta's standards for safety, sanitation, and customer service.
What You'll Do
  • Smile and greet customers and team members; deliver extraordinary service using Vallarta's six steps.
  • Model Vallarta's Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
  • Select, scan, and pack customer orders from all temperature zones with accuracy and care.
  • Contact customers regarding substitutions and ensure orders meet freshness and quality standards.
  • Bag groceries according to Vallarta procedures and deliver to customer vehicles.
  • Transport, stock, and rotate grocery products; pull out-of-code or distressed merchandise.
  • Maintain merchandise on shelves, in designated storage areas, and store displays.
  • Notify supervisors of inventory levels to minimize out-of-stocks/overstocks.
  • Handle merchandise carefully to minimize damage and shrink.
  • Safely unload merchandise and transport using dollies, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
  • Report discrepancies, damaged items, or quality issues to management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Comply with food safety, health code, and sanitation practices.
  • Follow company policies and safety standards; report unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
  • Support inventory, price marking, and department housekeeping.
  • Foster teamwork, support training, and assist coworkers as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk constantly (6�8+ hours/day).
  • Frequently bend neck/waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Heaviest item required to carry: 61 lbs., up to 12 feet.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other moving equipment safely.
  • Work near equipment/machinery; exposure to dust, gas, fumes, temperature, and humidity changes.
  • Work on uneven ground occasionally.
  • May be required to perform tasks at elevated levels (placing or retrieving items).
