Job Title: Night Crew Clerk

Position Summary:

Night Crew Clerks work overnight to ensure the grocery section of the store is well-stocked, clean, and organized for our customers. They assist in receiving, storing, and stocking products while ensuring proper product rotation and quality control. In addition to stocking shelves, Night Crew Clerks create and build product displays, front products, and handle any product damages or credits in accordance with company policy. Night Crew Clerks also take responsibility for cleaning, sweeping, and performing general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and orderly store environment.

General Purpose:

The general purpose of the Night Crew Clerk is to prepare the store for the next day's business by ensuring that all grocery sections are well-stocked, organized, and clean. This position is essential to keeping the store running smoothly by performing stock duties and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Stocking & Merchandising: Unload products, store them in designated locations, and ensure proper placement and rotation of items on shelves. Build and maintain product displays to attract customers and maximize sales.
  • Product Rotation & Quality Control: Ensure products are rotated correctly (FIFO – First In, First Out) to maintain freshness and quality. Check expiration dates and handle product damages or recalls according to company policy.
  • Shelf Maintenance & Fronting: Ensure that all shelves are “fronted” (products pulled to the front of shelves) to maintain a neat, orderly appearance. Keep shelves stocked with products and promptly return misplaced items to their proper locations.
  • Housekeeping Duties: Sweep and mop floors in assigned areas, including aisles, break rooms, and storage areas. Assist with the clean-up of spills, trash, and other messes as necessary to maintain store cleanliness.
  • Handling Returns: Take returned products back to their correct shelf locations. Ensure that return processes are completed efficiently and in accordance with store policy.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all store safety protocols, including using appropriate cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Other Duties: Perform other general housekeeping duties and assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
