Job description

Position acts as a Cashier for the Retail Division of Sunrise Enterprises of Roseburg, Inc., a private non-profit corporation that provides community inclusion and employment services for adults with disabilities. This position is responsible for assisting retail operations at assigned store and will also participate in processing functions when needed This position is responsible for bank deposits, money counts, and cash control. Inspires greatness in both the individuals we serve and our team members by fostering a culture of encouragement, growth, and high performance.

Qualifications
  • At least four months' experience in retail/cashiering position.
  • High school diploma or GED or acceptable combination of experience and education.
  • Basic computer skills & familiarity with Microsoft office program and timekeeping applications
  • Must be dependable and maintain a good attendance record.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work both independently and in groups.
  • Proven, stable employment history.
  • At least 16 years of age.
  • Pass criminal history check (May include fingerprinting.) and drug test may include THC.

Working Conditions/ Hours
Typically, 20 - 40 hours per week; workdays and hours will vary. Stores are open seven days a week from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Overtime and weekends may be required. Travel is not typically required; exceptions may include company meetings and training. Mostly indoors, possible exposure to noise, dust and donated products of varying conditions. Overtime may be required with prior approval from the direct supervisor.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Frequent standing and walking. Intermittent stooping, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and sitting. Occasional lifting to 45 lbs. Ability to stay calm in tense situations. Ability to multitask. Operates pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently. Reasonable accommodation will be provided for a person with a disability under ADA.
Essential Functions
  • At the beginning of each shift, promptly review emails, daily schedules, and staff assignments. Ensure merchandise is organized and displayed according to standards, be prepared to deliver excellent customer service. Verify registers are operational, supplies are stocked, and all activities comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist customers with unloading donated products.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to shoppers and donors while running the cash register, unloading donations, stocking shelves, and other retail functions.
  • Aid customers on the phone.
  • Maintain and balance till within prescribed policies and processes.
  • Assist supervisor in aspects of running a retail establishment that has been assigned to you.
  • Serve as a role model for appropriate work behaviors, social skills, respect for others, and cooperation.
  • Effectively diffuse disagreeable customers and situations and follow safety protocols.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in a stressful environment.
  • Perform production duties as requested. Know and follow existing quality control of product or service being produced.
  • Perform duties and complete tasks as requested by supervisor in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Maintain agency records in a professional manner consistent with prescribed guidelines and expectations.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, training, and committees.
  • Do not exceed responsibility/authority delegated to you by supervisor.
  • Exhibit good judgment in situations not specifically covered by agency policy or procedures.
  • Participate in safety and safety programs.
  • Keep work area in a clean, safe condition.
  • Report any safety hazards, accidents, incidents of neglect, abuse, emergencies, or problems to supervisor and/or appropriate person per policy.
  • Submit time sheets and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Meet regular attendance requirements at assigned worksite because job requires face-to-face interaction with clients, customers, or other employees, and/or because job utilizes on-site products and equipment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
