ROLE HIGHLIGHTS

Part Time Specimen Collector 
Regional coverage - Wellesley, Needham, Framingham, Boston, MA

 

  • Rate: $21.00/hr
  • Schedule: Variable shift times Mon, Tues, Thurs Fri 9am-1pm, and Wed from 7:30am - 6pm (will be 4 to 8 hours per week, could be more)
  • Requirements: 
    • Must have reliable vehicle, a valid drivers license, current auto insurance coverage, and successful completion of a motor vehicle record check.
    • Flexibility to navigate between multiple clinics and travel to support the MA region is required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately collect, process, label, package, and ship laboratory specimens according to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform accurate and timely order entry, specimen documentation, and data entry.

  • Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable healthcare regulations and company policies.

  • Troubleshoot and obtain missing patient or order information when necessary.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous healthcare, specimen collection, phlebotomy, medical assisting, or patient care experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems and technology.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, infection prevention, and specimen handling best practices preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation if travel between clinic locations is required.
  • Required specimen collection certifications, if applicable.
