Job Summary:
Do you enjoy helping others reach their full potential? Are you constantly searching for ways to improve your teaching effectiveness to better meet the needs of your students? If so, then Kalamazoo Valley Community College may have the ideal opportunity for you.
Kalamazoo Valley is currently seeking a part-time Spanish instructor to teach one section of FRL 105 & FRL 106 Beginning Spanish 1 & II. Blended courses (in person and online). The ideal instructor would help students acquire and apply useful speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in an interactive environment regarding familiar topics; and provide students opportunities to improve their language proficiency by creating class activities which encourage students to utilize language to carry out meaningful tasks in the target language.
Schedule may include weekdays and evenings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Spanish
OR
Master's degree in any subject in Humanities PLUS at least 20 credit hours of Spanish coursework. One of the Spanish courses must be at the graduate level. In addition, qualified candidates with a MA in Humanities must have spent at least six (6) months in a country where Spanish is the official language.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Prior post-secondary teaching experience, preferably at the community college level.
Experience with technology to teach blended courses that may either have in-person sessions or synchronous virtual sessions via Zoom.
