What We're Looking For
Are you interested in being a part of a fast-paced team that focuses on providing safe and efficient routing for the trucking/transportation industry? We're seeking a Part-Time Customer Service Processing Technician to join our HNTB team.
This is a customer service-focused position located on-site at the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit in Garner, North Carolina. The work hours are in the evening from 5 pm to 10 pm Monday through Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or someone interested in working evenings.
Primary Focus Will Include:
• Providing excellent customer service
• Utilizing mapping and other software applications
• Processing permit applications for NCDOT Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
• Excellent customer service skills
• Experience with mapping or routing software
• Excellent written and verbal skills
Hourly rate:
Starting rate is $21/hour with the opportunity to advance.
What You'll Do:
  • Evaluates the state highway system infrastructure for proposed routing of specialty vehicles requiring permits such as oversize and/or overweight trucks.
  • Utilizes mapping and other software applications to analyze and evaluate maps, bridge weight, and clearance data. Interprets truck route ordinance and establishes safe routing for vehicle/vehicle combinations in partnership with industry professionals.
  • Processes transportation permit applications for appropriate agency.
  • Maintains up-to-date training for Purchase Card Industry (PCI) standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
