Part-Time Robotics Coach

Brentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is looking for a part-time after school robotics coach beginning in August 2026. In the Brentwood Robotics program, students and teachers work together to develop a growth mindset and deepen critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Iterative workflow processes support and challenge students to better understand their learning and acquire increasingly sophisticated strategies as engineers. The robotics season typically starts in September and goes through mid-March, depending on their advancement in the competition.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise students in the robotics program two school days a week and provide student support, including facilitating student research, design, and innovation, providing technical advice, helping maintain student engineering notebooks, and analyzing and evaluating prototypes and robotics systems.
  • Attend competitions with students, which are in the evenings or on weekends.
  • Help maintain all equipment, organize and order supplies
  • Enforce standards of gracious professionalism, behavior, and production quality
  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines of the FTC & FLL programs and all programs the teams compete in
  • Ensure that all students are treated equally and find that their time spent is rewarding
  • Have strong experience in using 3D CAD software to design robotic systems, know how to use a range of tools to build robotic systems, have coding knowledge and the ability to think algorithmically, and have a passion for working with middle school and high school students.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Co-Directors of the Belldegrun Center for Innovation & Leadership or Head of School

COMPENSATION: Brentwood School's employment requirements vary, from positions requiring no experience to those needing 20+ years of expert experience. Our salary range includes all levels of experience, from $32 to $36 per hour depending on experience. Salaries are determined based on years of experience, education, full- or part-time status, the category of the role, and the number of months worked per school year.
