About the Role

Charlie Health is looking for a motivated and passionate individual to serve our incredible clients as a Care Coach. Care Coaches at Charlie Health are individuals who advocate for mental health and are personally passionate about ensuring successful, sustainable healing journeys of those around them. This candidate will be able to empathize with and validate the challenges our clients are navigating, while providing motivation and encouragement to continue engaging in therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Engages Charlie Health clients in 1:1 peer discussions via secure platforms to ensure clients are aligned in their treatment goals and attending programming.
  • Provides skill-based interventions aimed at stabilizing clients in moments of heightened stress.
  • Provides risk screenings and safety planning, escalating to crisis clinicians as is indicated
  • Remain a resource during programming to maintain engagement throughout treatment.
    Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (earned or in senior year) in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or social/mental health related field and/or relevant certifications (Certified Peer Specialist - national or state accredited).
  • 2nd year Master's students preferred
    • Previous expertise working with young adults and adolescents in both individual and group settings is highly preferred (Inpatient, IOP, PHP, or RTC)
    • Preferred: 1+ years experience in working as a mental health peer support, mentor, skills trainer, or mental health associate.
  • For Those Applying in VA
    • Virginia PRS or FSP certification and registration
    • Advocate for client needs and ensure individualized goals are met in accordance with their assessment and treatment plan
    • Must have direct experience and lived experience with mental health or substance use disorders. This could include parenting a child/youth with these experiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required as well as knowledge of professional board
    standards as related to client treatment, client rights, and client confidentiality.
  • Eager to work in a fast-paced environment and play a critical role in supporting the success of patient treatment.
    Requirements
  • W2 part-time role
  • Must be available for 10 hours/week minimum, and to work 3 days/week min to work a 3-3.5 hour shift each day.
  • Care Coaches must have availability within the below time frames:
    • Monday - Thursday from 10am-10pm MT
    • Friday 3-8pm MT
    • Saturday 7-2pm MT or 3-9pm MT
    • Rotating Fridays and Saturdays required
    • Availability for both preferred
    • Cannot drop below 10 hours of availability. Could get up to 28 hours weekly. Availability that aligns with our needs they are hired on with would need to be maintain throughout employment.
  • Have access to reliable WiFi to work in a remote and confidential setting.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and native or bilingual English proficiency.
  • Proficiency with cloud-based communication and software–Slack, Dropbox, Gmail, Zoom, Google Drive, EMR.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office–Excel, or Google Sheets.

Additional Information

The expected pay for this role will be $20.00 per hour.

We are not currently hiring in the following locations for this role:

Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, New York, Washington State, Washington DC, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois, and Minnesota.

Based on the nature of this role, you will need to complete several state background checks for clearance to see clients. Florida requires a fingerprint based background check, with more information found here. Please note that the cost for this background check will be paid for in full by Charlie Health.
