Job description

Family in Miami Shores is seeking a Family/Household Assistant to help manage daily activities and support a family of three: mom and two children, ages 5 and 10. The role is part-time, with a minimum of 30 hours per week. Additional hours are available for a candidate who is open to cooking. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Work Schedule (30 hours per week)
  • Monday: 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Schedule flexibility is required to accommodate minor changes related to co-parenting.
Household Management
  • Keep kitchen and common-area countertops organized and free of daily clutter.
  • Coordinate furniture assembly and other one-time tasks (e.g., Taskrabbit).
  • Order groceries, household supplies, and cleaning products proactively before they run low.
  • Assist with vacation planning, research, and logistics.
  • Coordinate and supervise house cleaners, contractors, and other service providers.
  • Organize and maintain the garage, closets, and other storage areas.
  • Maintain the household calendar, appointments, and reminders.
  • Research products, services, healthcare providers, and other personal or household needs.
  • Handle returns and exchanges (Amazon and other retailers).
  • Monitor and maintain smart home systems (vacuum, blinds, lighting, etc.), updating schedules as needed.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of the home and backyard to identify maintenance, repair, or deep-cleaning needs; coordinate vendors as necessary.
  • Perform light backyard upkeep and oversee larger landscaping or maintenance projects.
  • Prepare and ship FedEx/UPS packages as needed.

Children
  • Pick up children from school as needed.
  • Purchase school uniforms, supplies, and other children's necessities.
  • Monitor school communications, calendars, special events, registrations, and payments.
  • Prepare snacks and simple meals for the children.
  • Help ensure the children complete homework, make their beds, and keep their rooms and belongings organized.
  • Supervise the children when needed while mom is away.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating birthday parties and other children's activities.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a private home in a similar capacity.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Good driving record.
  • Must have own car for work.
  • Professional references from previous families.
  • Professional and discreet.
  • Child-friendly.

Compensation: $38 to $40 per hour, based on experience.
