A private family relocating from New York to Coral Gables, Florida, is seeking an experienced and dependable Housekeeper / Family Assistant to join their household. The family consists of a couple and two school-aged children, ages 6 and 9. The home is a two-story, approximately 4,000-square-foot residence with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
This position is approximately 80% housekeeping and 20% childcare/family support. The ideal candidate will be an experienced private housekeeper who is comfortable assisting with the children's daily routines and providing light family-style cooking. Childcare responsibilities are limited and primarily include assisting with the children's morning routine, school drop-off and pick-up, general supervision, and care of their personal items and belongings.

The family offers a separate private house located within walking distance, just a few blocks from the residence. The housing is optional and is not a requirement of the position. The family is seeking candidates local to the area, and candidates who already live nearby, including Coral Gables and the surrounding areas, are welcome to apply and may remain in their own home. This is not a traditional live-in or overnight position.
The family is seeking local South Florida candidates only and is ready to begin interviewing. The position is expected to start in early August.
Schedule
Monday through Friday - 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
The candidate will have a set daily work schedule and will not be responsible for overnight childcare or household duties.
Responsibilities
- Assist the children with their morning routine and help them prepare for school.
- Drive the children to and from school.
- Maintain the daily cleanliness and general upkeep of the residence.
- Perform routine housekeeping, including bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, and family living spaces.
- Manage family laundry and care for the children's personal items.
- Maintain household organization and ensure the home remains tidy and well maintained.
- Grocery shop and assist with household errands as needed.
- Prepare a simple lunch for two people.
- Prepare light, family-style dinners.
- Pick up the children from school and provide general supervision as needed.
- Assist with the children's belongings and daily needs.
- Restock household supplies and maintain general household organization.
The family also employs a cleaning service that comes approximately every two weeks for deep cleaning. The Housekeeper / Family Assistant will be responsible for the daily upkeep and ongoing maintenance of the home.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous private household housekeeping experience.
- Strong housekeeping and laundry skills.
- Comfortable preparing simple, family-style meals.
- Comfortable assisting with school-aged children.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Highly organized, dependable, and proactive.
- Discreet and respectful of the family's privacy.
- Comfortable working independently and managing daily household priorities.
- Summer Travel to the Hamptons June to August
- Must currently reside in South Florida.
Compensation & Benefits
$85,000-$90,000 annually, depending on experience.
