Job description

This position will be a part of the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering Marketing and Communications team. The Luddy Marketing and Communications Team serves as the central lead on all strategic marketing initiatives, services, and communication needs for the Luddy School on the Bloomington campus. This position will play a key creative role on the team and will report to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications.
Department Specific Responsibilities
  • Pitches creative social media content ideas that showcase student life, academics, research, and events at the Luddy School.
  • Plans, films, edits, and delivers engaging photo and video content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms.
  • Writes draft captions and assists with developing social media content that aligns with the Luddy School's voice and brand.
  • Coordinates with student organizations, ambassadors, and volunteers to recruit participants and organize content opportunities.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Marketing and Communications team and the student community, identifying trends, stories, and opportunities for authentic student-focused content.
  • Manages assigned content projects from concept through completion, meeting deadlines and communicating progress with the marketing team.
  • Applies university and Luddy School brand guidelines while contributing creative ideas and fresh approaches to digital storytelling.
  • Collaborates with marketing team members to support social media campaigns, special events, and other communications initiatives.
  • Attends campus events to capture photo and video content for the Luddy School's social media channels.

EDUCATION
Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
SKILLS
Required
  • Beginning level of experience using multimedia production tools like Adobe Premiere, Canva, Adobe Express, etc.
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Demonstrates clear communication skills, dependability, and able to meet deadlines
  • Consistent use of communication and project management tools such as Teams, Asana, OneDrive, Outlook, etc.

This position is only eligible to undergraduate students.

Advertised Salary
Pay Rate: $13.50 per Hour
Work Hours
5-10 hours weekly
Schedule expectations (days/hours and any evening, weekend and/or holiday work required)
Flexible schedule, occasional weekend hours, holiday breaks not required
1 weekly meeting with supervisor between the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
