Snow Plow Driver – Seasonal / Potential Year-Round EmploymentCompany: U.S. Lawns Cleveland East
Location: Cleveland East and surrounding areas
U.S. Lawns Cleveland East is seeking an experienced, dependable Snow Plow Driver to join our snow and ice management team. This position requires someone who takes safety seriously, reports when needed, and can be trusted to properly service assigned properties during winter weather events.
Candidates with professional landscaping and crew leadership experience may also be considered for continued employment during the spring, summer, and fall seasons.
Qualifications
  • Previous commercial snow-plowing experience is required.
  • Experience salting commercial parking lots and operating vehicles equipped with salt spreaders.
  • Experience operating a skid steer for snow plowing and removal is a plus.
  • Snow and ice management certifications or related training are a plus.
  • Landscaping crew leader experience is a plus.
  • Experience with commercial lawn maintenance, flowerbed maintenance, landscape enhancements, and related outdoor work is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be drug-free and able to pass a drug screening if required.
  • Must report to work free from alcohol, drugs, or any substance that could impair safe equipment operation.
  • Must have a reliable smartphone with active service.
  • Must be comfortable using a mobile app to receive assignments and check in and out at each plow site.
  • Ability to upload service information, notes, and site photos through the app when required.
  • Reliable transportation to and from our shop.
  • Must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and major holidays, whenever snow or ice conditions require service.
  • Strong communication, accountability, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow assigned routes, property maps, instructions, and completion procedures.
  • Must report accidents, property damage, equipment problems, and unsafe conditions immediately.
Responsibilities
  • Safely plow snow from commercial parking lots and designated service areas.
  • Apply salt evenly and correctly based on site conditions and instructions.
  • Use the company’s mobile app to check in upon arrival and check out after completing each property.
  • Accurately record arrival times, departure times, services completed, materials used, and property conditions.
  • Upload required before-and-after photos, service notes, and documentation.
  • Use the phone and mobile app only when safely parked—never while driving or actively operating equipment.
  • Monitor changing weather and property conditions during each event.
  • Complete assigned properties thoroughly and within the required time.
  • Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, plow, spreader, lights, and safety equipment.
  • Keep the truck and equipment clean and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Communicate with supervisors and remain reachable throughout each snow event.
  • Avoid damage to curbs, landscaping, signs, vehicles, buildings, and other property features.
  • Assist crew members with sidewalk shoveling, snow blowing, hand salting, and lifting materials when plowing is completed or additional help is needed.
Important Physical Demands
This is a physically demanding position. Operating a snowplow can involve repeated jolting, bouncing, vibration, sudden stops, and long periods of sitting. Drivers may also be required to exit the truck and perform physical snow and ice work.
Applicants must be able to safely perform the following duties, with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Repeatedly enter and exit a plow truck.
  • Shovel wet, heavy, or compacted snow.
  • Perform hand salting and carry bags or containers of ice-melting material.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, bend, twist, and work on slippery surfaces.
  • Work outdoors in cold, snowy, icy, and windy conditions.
  • Remain alert and work safely during long, overnight, or physically demanding snow events.
Applicants should carefully consider these physical demands before applying. This position may not be suitable for someone who cannot safely tolerate the repeated jolting associated with plowing or the lifting, shoveling, and hand-salting requirements of the job.
Potential Year-Round Opportunity
Qualified candidates with landscaping crew leader experience may have an opportunity to continue working with U.S. Lawns Cleveland East after the winter season. Relevant experience includes:
  • Leading and managing a landscaping crew.
  • Commercial lawn mowing, trimming, edging, and property maintenance.
  • Flowerbed maintenance, weeding, pruning, and mulching.
  • Lawn and landscape enhancement work.
  • Safely operating commercial landscaping equipment.
  • Managing job quality, crew productivity, and daily documentation.
Continued employment will depend on experience, job performance, reliability, available positions, and company needs.
What We Expect
We are looking for a safe, experienced, accountable driver—not someone who simply pushes snow. The right person will take pride in their work, care for company equipment, accurately document every service, communicate clearly, support the team, and ensure every assigned property is serviced properly.
Employment Type: Seasonal and on-call, with potential year-round employment
Schedule: Snow and ice events can occur at any time. Drivers must be available during the day, overnight, on weekends, and on major holidays as needed.
To apply, please provide your name, phone number, relevant snow-plowing and salting experience, landscaping or crew leader experience, equipment you have operated, certifications or related training, and current driver’s license status.
