Location: Ketchikan, AK, 99901

Servers at The Portside Pub amp; Grill play a vital role in delivering a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations. This includes managing their assigned station, coordinating with -front- and back-of-house teams, and ensuring prompt, accurate, and friendly service. Servers process guest orders, monitor satisfaction, respond to requests, and ensure a smooth dining experience from start to finish. Key Responsibilities

Guest Interaction:
-Greet guests warmly and provide menus and water upon arrival.
-Inform guests of specials, menu updates, and make personalized recommendations.
-Answer questions about food, beverages, and service, while upselling items to enhance the guest experience.
-Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.

Order Management:
-Take and accurately relay food and beverage orders to the kitchen and bar using the Micros system.
-Ensure all orders are prepared properly and delivered to guests in a timely manner.
--Serve courses with attention to detail, garnishing plates and beverages as needed.
Service Excellence:
-Present, open, and serve wine and other alcoholic beverages (with proper age and certifications).
-Create coffee and specialty drinks using the espresso machine.
-Observe guests to ensure satisfaction with their food and service, respond to requests, and determine when meals are complete.
-Present bills promptly, process payments, or direct guests to the cashier as needed.
-Greet to go order guests and couriers as soon as they enter the restaurant to ensure they are noticed.

Station Management:
-Stock, clean, and reset tables and workstations throughout the shift.
-Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, including tables, chairs, high chairs, floors, and windows.
-Ensure to-go orders are double-checked for accuracy and packaged correctly.

Safety and Compliance:
-Maintain a safe work environment by keeping floors clean and dry, using wet floor signs as needed.
-Adhere to Alaska TAPS and Food Handler licensing requirements.

Team Support:
