JOB SUMMARY: A CRNA is an advanced practice specialty within the profession of nursing responsible for giving total anesthesia care to patients requiring anesthesia services. CRNA practice includes pre-anesthetic evaluation and preparation, anesthesia induction, maintenance and emergence, post-anesthetic care, pain management and responding to emergency situations related to airway management and cardiac life support techniques.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of a nurse anesthesia education program accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs or its predecessor. 
  • Current license as Registered Nurse by North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) or current compact state license. 
  • Current recognition as a CRNA by NCBON.
  • Current AHA ACLS/BLS/PALS certification. 
  • Certification/Recertification by National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). 
  • Current privileges as a CRNA at CarolinaEast. 
  • Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by this organization and state.
  • Demonstrates competency in the responsibilities specified in this job description and privileges. 
  • Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
