Job description

Job Summary
The security personnel are to maintain the safety and security for all Archdiocese of Chicago (AOC) Pastoral center employees and visitors.
Essential Job functions
  • Maintain safety and security for all employees and visitors.
  • Keep current on all emergency procedures and all safety equipment.
  • Greet employees and visitors as they enter the buildings.
  • Walk through interior and exterior of all buildings to ensure building is secure.
  • Watch for and report any suspicious behavior.
  • Secure all windows, doors, gates, etc.
  • Work within other building personnel as needed, Building Engineers, front desk reception, etc.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor in all stressful situations.
  • Shift may include rotation at more than one pastoral center locations.

Job Requirements
  • High School graduate, GED or equivalent, and Completion of the Police Academy or Certification for Security.
  • 5 years of security background or one year as police officer
  • Problem Solver must have the ability to think and react quickly to a variety of situations, strategic thinker, self-discipline.
  • Valid IL Driver's License. Availability to work second shift.

Preferred Job Skills and Experience
  • Current or Retired Police Officer
  • Familiarity with the Chicago Metro Area.
