Position: Adult Education Security Guard
Job Purpose: To provide for the security and protection of all students, staff, and property.
Responsibilities:
  • Patrols the building and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
  • Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure including unlocking of doors each evening for assigned classes.
  • Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, and provides a liaison with the local police and emergency services.
  • Consults with the program facilitator/coordinator concerning criminal matters and procedures.
  • Advises the program facilitator/coordinator of matters of security and discipline.
  • Documents all incidents involving serious disciplinary action.
  • Utilizes conflict resolution techniques in dealing with student/staff situations
  • Other appropriate duties as assigned by the Director of Adult Education/Program Facilitator.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
  • Such alternatives to above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Successfully pass the Security Officer License Training.

Reports to: Adult Education Director/Program Facilitator
Terms of Employment:
  • Part time - follows school calendar
