What the role is all about:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Security, you’ll be at the front lines of creating a safe, welcoming, and smooth-running experience for everyone at WinSport. Whether you're assisting with emergencies, patrolling the grounds, or helping a guest find their way, you’ll be a key player in making sure everything runs safely and efficiently.

What you will be doing:

Every shift will be different, but your main responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and resolving park-wide safety concerns—or reporting them when needed

  • Assisting paramedics and performing first aid when they’re unavailable

  • Responding to fire alarms and taking appropriate action

  • Playing a key role in emergency response plans

  • Responding to vehicle accidents and completing detailed reports

  • Addressing building or operational issues as they arise

  • Conducting routine patrols and safety inspections of all buildings, facilities, and grounds

  • Monitoring closed-circuit TV and security systems (C-Cure, Sipass)

  • Keeping an eye on doors, locks, traffic, parking, and pedestrian safety

  • Responding to incidents like theft and rule violations; writing follow-up reports

  • Attending court when necessary

  • Supporting the coordination of special events

  • Offering top-notch assistance to visitors and staying in-the-know about all park activities

  • Assisting other departments and providing after-hours access when needed

  • Reporting safety hazards and ensuring workspaces remain safe and compliant

  • Reviewing OH&S notices and keeping up to date on safety protocols

  • Performing other duties as required

What you bring:                                                   

  • Post-secondary education in Criminology or Recreation is a plus

  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a security role

  • A valid Security License

  • Class C CPR, First Aid Certification & AED Training

  • ProServe and ProTect certifications

  • Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract

  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal

  • A calm, mature, and friendly presence with excellent customer service skills

  • Comfort with computers and basic tech systems

  • Ability to work independently and stay composed in high-pressure situations

  • Bondable and able to pass a security clearance

  • Previous experience in recreational or public facilities is an asset

You will be:

  • You’ll be on your feet, walking and standing in all weather conditions—rain, snow, heat, or cold

  • You may be lifting, bending, crouching, or pulling throughout your shift

  • This role includes shift work, which may be overnight, and could involve 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts.
