As a Security Officer Dispatch Console in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. In this role, you will help maintain awareness across the site, provide outstanding customer service, and contribute to a caring culture built on teamwork, reliability, innovation, agility, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor radios, phones, alarms, cameras, and other communication systems, and dispatch security-related personnel to incidents, service requests, and priority calls in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Document incidents, maintenance concerns, access activity, and shift updates in dispatch logs and reports, and communicate relevant details to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Support access control and visitor management functions by verifying information, responding to credential issues, and coordinating with site contacts regarding deliveries, escorts, and after-hours activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrol coordination around the business and perimeter, track officer status and coverage, and help to deter unauthorized activity through timely communication and response.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
