About the Role

The Interventional Psychiatry Technician (Part-Time) delivers Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and esketamine treatments to patients in a supportive, clinical environment. This role combines hands-on patient care, clinical support, and care coordination to ensure safe, effective treatment and a positive patient experience. The Technician administers treatments per physician protocols, monitors patient responses, documents care, and collaborates with the care team to support each patient’s treatment journey.

This role is part-time (16~ hours/week, Monday and Wednesday) onsite in our Chapel Hill office.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals receiving TMS and esketamine treatments.
  • Administer TMS and assist with esketamine treatments in accordance with physician protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment equipment and ensure patient comfort and safety during sessions.
  • Monitor patient responses, obtain vital signs, and promptly report concerns or adverse reactions.
  • Administer psychiatric rating scales and document all sessions and interactions in the EHR.
  • Schedule and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing care.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and staff to ensure seamless, coordinated patient support.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with HIPAA and clinical standards.
  • Recognize and respond to mental health crises using de-escalation techniques and emergency protocols.
  • Support quality assurance efforts and report deviations from clinical or safety standards.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of clinical equipment and coordinate technical support as needed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and special projects as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • 1+ year of direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working with patients experiencing anxiety and depression.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Life Sciences, Psychological Sciences, or a related field.
  • EMR experience preferred (NextGen/AdvancedMD a plus).
  • TMS Certification; training provided within the first 90 days if not already certified.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and comfort interacting with patients in a mental health setting.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $20 per hour.
