Part-Time Childcare Driver (Split Shift)Purpose Kids Early Childhood Learning Center is seeking a dependable, caring, and safety-minded Part-Time Childcare Driver to safely transport children to and from local schools and approved destinations. If you have a passion for working with children, an excellent driving record, and a commitment to safety, we'd love to hear from you!
This position requires a split shift schedule, making it ideal for someone looking for part-time hours during the school day.
Schedule
  • Monday–Friday
  • Morning Shift: 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM
  • Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Split shift with a break between morning and afternoon routes.
  • Part-time position (approximately 30 hours per week).
Responsibilities
  • Safely transport children to and from local schools and approved destinations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns.
  • Ensure all children are properly seated and following transportation safety procedures.
  • Maintain active supervision and accurate headcounts during loading, unloading, and transportation.
  • Assist children safely entering and exiting the vehicle.
  • Keep the transportation vehicle clean and in good working condition.
  • Communicate professionally with families, school personnel, and center staff.
  • Follow all childcare licensing regulations, center policies, and traffic laws.
  • Arrive on time and maintain dependable attendance.
  • Assist with light classroom or center duties between transportation routes as needed.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience transporting children is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in a licensed childcare setting is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and assist children entering and exiting the vehicle.
License & Certification Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a criminal background check as required by state childcare licensing.
  • Must meet all licensing requirements to work in a licensed childcare center.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Must complete all required state childcare orientation and annual training requirements.
  • Must successfully pass any required driving or transportation screenings.
