Job description

Riverdale Rehab and Nursing Care Center is currently seeking for a Transporter Driver for Part-Time  to join our dynamic organization. 

OVERVIEW:

The Transport Driver is responsible for driving the facilityvehicle to transport residents to desired destinations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

A        Provides physical assistance to each participantwhen needed as he/she boards and disembarks from the programas vehicles.

A        Ensures that emergency medical information isavailable for those participants being transported.

A        Maintains the first aid kit in the vehicle,replacing supplies as they are used or become outdated.

A        Ensures that all passengers wear safety beltsand wheelchairs are locked into position.

A        Maintains vehicle in neat and clean conditionanticipating needed mechanical service so appointments can be arranged that areconvenient to program operations.

A        Keeps vehicle maintenance records current;coordinate and schedule routine and episodic vehicle maintenance.

A        Reports to Supervisor any vehicle operatingproblems, malfunctions or incidents out of the ordinary routine.

A        Maintains accurate daily records of number oftrips, individuals transported, miles and gallons of gas.

A        Compiles all necessary information to meetreporting requirements.

A        Transports participants to and from physician orother medical appointments, as requested

A        Assists with program activities by transportingparticipants to an event, as coordinated by the activities manager.

A        Establishes and maintains communication withpatients and coworkers to improve quality of service and customer satisfaction.

A        Lifts patients in and out of bed, chairs, taxisand ambulances to move them to and from treatment areas and procedure rooms.

A        Transports medical equipment, supplies,documents and laboratory specimens to designated treatment, diagnostic andpatient care areas.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

A        1+ year in experience in a healthcare settingpreferred

A        CPR/BLS certification or must be obtained within30 days of hire

A        Clean driving record

A        Valid Driveras License
