With more than 150 physicians in every orthopedic specialty, IBJI offers care for adults and children from some of the most accomplished and respected orthopedists in the country. Serving northern Illinois and northwest Indiana with over 100 locations, IBJI makes it easy to access care. Our headquarters is in Park Ridge, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago. Our clinical services include advanced MRI imaging, pain management, non-surgical and surgical treatment plans, rheumatology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, wellness, and sports and sports training. Ortho Access walk-in clinics provide same day care for orthopedic injuries. Comprehensive care offered all in one place enables physicians, therapists and staff to work closely together, so that patients and families achieve better outcomes. Collaborative care is also more efficient. In many cases, IBJI services are substantially less expensive than those provided by large healthcare systems and emergency rooms.
Job Summary
IBJI, Chicagoland's premier orthopedic medical practice with several Chicago and suburban locations, has a Part Time (25 hours weekly) Rehabilitation Technician openings at our Grayslake Therapy Services location. This position provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in an orthopedic physical and occupational therapy setting. As a rehab technician at IBJI, you'll be a vital member of the orthopedic team, contributing to both clinical care and the overall success of the clinic using expertise in patient treatment and time management.
A rehabilitation technician is under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objectives of this position is to support the staff with a team-oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care with the goal of improving a patient's overall quality of life.
Essential Duties
  1. Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office.
  2. Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, change out linen, stocking supplies.
  3. Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.
  4. Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines.
  5. Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities.
  6. Communicate with therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program.
  7. Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
  8. Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician.
  9. Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials.
  10. For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone.
  11. Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
  12. Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity.
  13. Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
  14. Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.
  15. Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours. 16. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Job Qualifications
  1. Available to work a variety of shifts
  2. Part time 15-25 hours per week
  3. High School Degree minimum required.

Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  2. Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management.
  3. Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  4. Skilled in Windows; MS Office; Email access.
  5. Able to lift 20 pounds to waist height

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
