Job description

MSD of Shakamak is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable STEM Facilitator to provide engaging, hands on STEM learning experiences for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. This is a non-certified, part-time position working approximately 29 hours per week during the school year.


Position Details

*Position: STEM facilitator

*Grade Levels: Kindergarten-6th Grade

*Schedule: Approximately 29 hours per week

*Classification: Part-time, non-certified

*Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits

*Starting Date: To be determined

*Compensation: Based on the board-approved classified employee compensation schedule


Primary Responsibilites

*Facilitate developmentally appropriate STEM lessons and activities for students in grades K-6.

*Provide hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

*Follow established curriculum, lesson plans, schedules, and instructional expectations.

*Collaborate with classrooms teachers and building administrators to support student learning.

*Prepare, organize, and maintain STEM materials, equipment, and learning spaces.

*Promote creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, and responsible use of technology.

*Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and well-managed learning environment.

*Monitor student participation and provide feedback to classroom teachers and administrators.

*Follow all school safety procedures, board policies, confidentiality requirements, and student supervision expectations.

*Assist with STEM-related projects, showcases, enrichment opportunities, and school events as assigned.

*Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the building principal or superintendent.


Qualifications

*High School diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or higher in education, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field is preferred.

*Experience working with elementary-aged students in a classroom, enrichment program, youth organization, camp, or similar setting is preferred.

*Coursework, training, or experience in STEM education, project-based learning, makerspace activities, robotics, coding, educational technology, or related field is preferred.

*Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, students, and families.

*Dependable, flexible, and student-centered approach to working in a school environement.

*Must successfully complete all required background checks and employment screenings.
