Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) is the state's leading provider of sexual and reproductive health care, nationally recognized for education and research. We operate four health centers and offer telehealth statewide as part of a network of 600 Planned Parenthood affiliates nationwide.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides highquality, patientcentered nursing care across a range of services, including family planning, abortion care, recovery room services, oncall nursing, and centralized followup services. Care is delivered in accordance with Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) protocols, organizational policies, and the professional standards of the American Nurses Association.

The RN ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA Privacy and Security, OSHA, CLIA, Title X, CDC, DEA, and Massachusetts Department of Public Health requirements. This role collaborates closely with health center staff to support safe, equitable, and inclusive reproductive health care.

The RN also serves as a clinical role model and supervising resource for health care assistants, volunteers, and interns while fostering a respectful, teambased work environment.

Your Day to Day:
Recovery Room Care
  • Perform patient admissions, assessments, counseling, discharge, and recovery room setup and cleanup in accordance with protocols and standing orders
  • Administer and dispense prescribed noncontrolled medications per provider orders and standing orders
  • Assess and manage expected and unexpected postprocedure outcomes in coordination with providers and Screening RNs
  • Perform venipuncture and pointofcare testing per standing orders
  • Insert and remove IV catheters
RN Visits & Medication Abortion Support
  • Provide RNled family planning visits, including injectionbased services
  • Respond to triagerelated nursing tasks
  • Support medication abortion care by preparing encounters, providing contraceptive, STI, and abortion counseling, and dispensing prescribed medications under standing orders
OnCall Nursing
  • Participate in afterhours RN call rotation (approximately 2-6 shifts per month)

Additional Responsibilities 
  • Conduct clinical audits as needed based on health center needs and RN skill level
  • Maintain current knowledge of nursing best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of patient care and clinic operations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current, unrestricted Massachusetts RN license required
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Clinical experience in sexual and reproductive health preferred
  • Commitment to health equity, patient autonomy, and traumainformed care
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, teambased clinical environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for approximately 95% of the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to bend, reach, and stock clinical supplies
$36.67 - $36.67 an hour
