Job description

Location: Mercy Coletta Cancer Center

Shift: Part Time (20 hours/week) 

Overview:

The Nurse Navigator is nursing specialist who follows patients across the continuum of care. The Navigator coordinates with an advanced level of clinical expertise, all aspects of treatment and care for, and in collaboration with, Mercy’s patients, their family and significant others, physicians, interdisciplinary team, and other support staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate from an approved school of nursing

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science Nursing

  • Experience: 2 years related experience

  • Preferred Experience: 3 years in an oncology setting, formal patient education and community educational presentations, support-group facilitation

  • Licensure: RN (Registered nurse) licensed in state of practice

  • Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 30 days of hire is required

  • Preferred Certification: Certification in Oncology Nursing or Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly.

  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
